that’s ridiculous! i had a high pet bill when i first brought my cat too.. is there any way to challenge it? i mean.. they never gave you an estimated price? but i wish you and your cat the best!
Thank you! He’s doing much better. He just seems a little out of it from all the pain meds. I’m not sure if I can actually challenge anything. I signed all the paper work giving them permission to do whatever was necessary. at the time the original estimate was for about $2,500, which I thought was crazy.I nearly passed out when they gave me the total today.
He’s finally home. You can see where they shaved his arm to put in the IV. :(

As some of you have read from the other night, I had to admit my cat into an animal hospital. He hadn’t been eating and lost half his body weight. They had to keep him for a couple of nights for observations & a bunch of tests. It turned out that it was only a dental problem and they had to extract some teeth. I was afraid it was something far worse. Well, today I get to pick him up and take him home.
for just over 4 THOUSAND dollars.
Yes, I said 4 grand.
The initial bill I received the night he was admitted was for $2,500 which is crazy enough as it is. I had to sign up for some sort of pet credit line in order to pay for this. Now today they added an extra $1,500-$1,700 to the bill.
I’m happy I get to bring him home now, But needless to say I’m freaking out about why it cost so much and how I’m paying for this.
