KATE JENKINS DISHES UP SOME CROCHET FOOD

With a collection of work that has garnered attention worldwide from a diverse demographic of collectors and galleries, her pieces often weave a fine line between the beautiful and the witty. While the fish above looks delicious and attractive, other examples take the form of familiar products with their tag-lines cleverly changed. Care for some “Sardines Crocheted in Tomato Sauce,” or some “Katez Tomato Stitchup?” For any lover of food art, this is heaven.

Jenkins has been creating her pieces for years now, getting her start in 1995 with a Fashion & Textile degree from the University of Brighton. She previously worked as a knitting consultant where she sold her designs to such labels as Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Sonia Rykiel and Donna Karan. Since 2003 she has run her own fashion and homewares label, Cardigan. You can see more of her artwork here.
